All of our hosting plans are designed with realistic numbers, not marketing ones. After doing some research, we have discovered that the majority of web-host clients fall into various categories. Those that use 500MB, 1GB, 2GB, 5GB, 10GB, or 15GB of disk space. And of those clients, almost all stick within the bandwidth limits we have set at each plan. Most, don’t even come close to the bandwidth limits. So why buy more than you need? In order for those other guys to offer what they do they have to overstock their servers and put limits on other things like CPU usage, simultaneous database connections, etc. You may not find out these limitations until it’s too late and your site is suspended. And overstocked servers cause other problems: slow site load times, slow database access, frequent downtime, etc. We only stock our servers up to 80% capacity to allow for occasional growth. When a client outgrows the server they’re on, we simply move them to a new, less stocked server. Our plans are high-quality and are servers are fast and reliable. And we want to keep it that way. - Why would I want to host with powerMonster when WebHOST X offers cheaper prices?
Remember the old adage you get what you pay for? That goes doubly for the web-hosting industry. Those other companies that offer a lot for so little do so in hopes of getting as many clients as possible. That may sound good from a business standpoint, but as a customer, that sucks! Why? The more customers, the less staff available to help them and meet their needs. The more customers means more customers per server. And when prices are low, many times they are not attracting quality customers. Our prices are competitive. We offer great customer service with all of our plans, we have a 99.9% uptime guarantee, we keep our servers below capacity so they can perform better and for longer, and if there’s ever a problem, we will make it right or refund any unused portion of your fees. If the big guys lose a client here or there, it’s not really a big deal to them.
